Consigli di letture estive – Tips for Summer (free) readings

Summertime is approaching fast and, even if today the sky here is a bit grey and the weather is windy enough (but people are surely sunbathing quietly on the beach as well). Yet, it is time to recollect some links and suggestions for our Summer readings, for personal advancement and pleasure. What you need are just handling a computer device (choose whatever you prefer: iPad, iPhone, laptop, desktop, etc.), having an Internet connection, and some time to spend.
What is important to note here is: try to keep sand beach off from your electronic device as better as possible, as it is the most dangerous element for saving your money (and not spending for a new device, unless you won the Lottery).
So, what can we do, apart from loading the car with the traditional books (in paper)? A good way to save weight and space is to rely on digital media, E-Books, and the like.
Here below I try to mention two links about (free) E-Books and audio-books and tracks.

1. Free Audio Books – From OpenCulture, a huge repository of free audio books, mostly classics, to your mp3 player or computer. You will find great works of fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
2. Free Books. The Ultimate Guide – From FriedBeef’s Tech, a large list of links and best online resources for free books.
3. iTunes – The large Apple electronic store and jukebox where you can find lots of resources (paid and free ones), podcasts, etc.
   
4. Librivox – LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain and release the audio files back onto the net. The goal is to make all public domain books available as free audio books. Available in various languages. It is also a wonderful school resource.
   

In Italiano:
L’Estate si avvicina e dopo le fatiche scolastiche ci possiamo dedicare a qualche lettura interessante o all’ascolto di audio-libri che ci accompagnino durante le rosolate solari sulla spiaggia o sulle rocce (a vostro piacimento). Spesso troviamo una miriade di risorse, molto frequentemente in lingua inglese (e la cosa sarebbe buona per approfondire la conoscenza di chi ancora “zoppica” in questa lingua…). Sì, lo so: trovare Audiolibri in italiano (possibilmente gratuiti) non é mai stato facile, ma è fattibile. Ecco allora di seguito alcuni siti utili:

1. FantasticaMente Audiolibri – Sezione della fortunata trasmissione RAI di Cinzia Tani e Luigi De Maio, con una selezione di oltre 70 racconti brevi di grandi scrittori della letteratura mondiale
2. Project Gutemberg – La sezione audiolibri della meritevole iniziativa contiene anche documenti e file audio in varie lingue, oltre che in inglese.
3. Biblioteca dei Bambini – Non c’è bambino che non ami ascoltare e riascoltare storie e fiabe che stimolano la fantasia con avventure e viaggi immaginari, ecco allora disponibili gratuitamente da ascoltare o scaricare, oltre 270 podcast MP3 con storie, fiabe e filastrocche narrate.
4. iTunes – Il grande negozio elettronico della Apple comprende una vasta serie di testi, audiolibri interessanti suddivisi per argomento e interesse, dalla narrativa alla saggistica, di cui i podcast fanno parte.
5. Librivox – Ottimo sito per trovare sia audio-libri che testi digitali, disponibile in varie lingue, italiano incluso.
