Oggi ho casualmente scoperto EdX, un portale assai ricco -perlopiù arricchito da università di lingua inglese- che mette a disposizione lezioni e corsi universitari veri e propri strutturati gratis.
EdX rappresenta una piattaforma in formato “open source” senza scopo di lucro, con impronta collaborativa, che mette insieme sia corsi e materiali di apprendimento per la fruizione asincrona, che come ambiente di ricerca e studio vero e proprio, come se si fosse all’università. L’approccio pedagogico e la qualità scientifica dei corsi proposti è rappresentata dai nomi che animano EdX: il Massachussets Institute of Technology (MIT) e l’Università di Harvard americani.
I corsi EdX sono aperti a tutti (eccetto per gli abitanti della Crimea, per ordine diretto di Obama). Tutto ciò che serve è un computer, un browser e una connessione internet. Ovviamente, è necessario il desiderio di imparare… Per iniziare basta creare un account EdX e quindi selezionare il corso richiesto dopo aver cliccato su Register Now per iniziare tutto. Tutti i corsi sono gratuiti, tranne alcuni mirati alla qualifica educativa professionale e c’è una tassa per il conseguimento dell’attestato e/o certificato legalmente valido, con tanto di crediti e riconoscimenti all’estero, secondo le norme vigenti.
Se vedete l’insieme dei partner che prendono parte alla piattaforma educativa, troviamo le istituzioni più prestigiose in giro possibili. Senza tante sorprese, non c’è alcuna università italiana, ma questa assenza non dovrebbe sorprendere molto.
